it never ceases to amaze me how a simple scent can take you back.
scents of growing up that you never realized were there...
yet all your friends told you,
"your house smells nice."
for a brief moment you get to smell the familiar scent
for a brief moment you're home
knowing that home as you know it is gone
knowing that home gets reconstructed every day.
yet for that brief moment
i was home.
some of the things that go on that otherwise you would not be aware of...
